Now it the time for Veterans in Kentucky to speak up and be heard and ensure the Vets of today AND tomorrow are taken care of at the best medical facility possible.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is currently deciding the fate of present and future  Kentucky Veterans’ healthcare here in Kentucky with the proposed replacement VA hospital.

The Vet population is growing as the Vets are gratefully living longer.  With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan winding down, tens of thousands of active-duty Servicemen and women are retiring and requiring specialized services paid for and provided by the VA.

This new VA medical complex needs to support the current and future Veterans with THE BEST care for the known-current and unknown-future injuries our Vets sustained while serving our country.

The Vets of Kentucky deserve the same opportunity to a world-class medical treatment center.

The VA’s best practices model for the last 3 new VA medical projects have been campus-type models.  In both Orlando and Las Vegas, the campus model has included not only a 130+ bed hospital, but also and outpatient clinic, a 120 bed nursing home, rehab center, regional Veteran offices, and wonderful green spaces for the Veterans and their family members to enjoy.  All of these buildings have been built on between 65 and 150 acres for costs of between $650 million and nearly $1 billion dollars.

All comments are vital for the Kentucky Vets of today and tomorrow. Tell the VA and our elected officials that you want THE BEST healthcare possible. Tell the VA and our elected officials that you want a medical complex that can grow with the ever-changing challenges of today’s Veterans and tomorrow’s Heroes. Tell the VA and our elected officials that you want them to be good stewards of our tax-payers’ dollars and get the most medical bang-for-the buck.
